 Placzek, Matthew

The fascination with form, volume, line and texture has kept Matthew J. Placzek creating breathtaking scultures for over 10 years. His work displays great attention to the smallest of details as well as an awareness of strong design and composition.

Matt's pieces are made primarily of basswood (Also called American Linden).  All of the foliage and butterflies around his smaller works are made of hand formed and painted copper.

Placzek's sculptures have captivated collectors across the U.S., Europe and Asia. His work is included in the collections of President Reagan and Bush, the U.S. Embassy in Prague, Czechoslovakia, the Presidential Palace at the Hofburg in Vienna, Austria, and the Presidential Residence in the Republic of China. His recent corporate collections include U.S. West Communications in Omaha, BMW Headquarters in Germany and Dayton Hudson in Minneapolis.
